I was just looking at a Hemmings Musclecar magazine and came across a picture of a set of GSX wheels where the centers were painted semi-flat black and the rimshells were chromed. I have original 70-71 Buick rimshells that I can rechrome and then install sandblasted then painted centers into them. It looks like they used the backspacing of the WG wheels which I can duplicate. It said in the article these wheels would go for over $2000 a set. I can duplicate them show quality for around $800-850 a set. Anyone interested?? Call me at 515-685-3397 if questions. Thanks, Curt at McWHEELS in Slater Iowa!!!

I believe Brad's GSX show car was the only GS/GSX to wear those wheels. If you search the boards, Im sure you'll see a pic of the wheels.

As you know, original WG wheels go for that kind of coin by themselves. I dont think painting the centers black would enhance the value.

Now....if you could replicate the original WG stampings and date codes then you might have something!

I believe Brad's car was the only one with 15" wheels with complete painted centers, but there was a (1) design study car with 14" wheels with complete painted centers.

    Curtis,
    Your wish is my ......................
If you look close you will notice the tire is a "Polyglas" and not a "Polyglas GT" tire, so it has to be a 14" tire. I don't know how clean the pic came out but the tire size is G 70-14.
    Enjoy

I have a few decent pics of this car, and may turn it into an article for the BPG newsletter "The Buildsheet".
