On a 70 GS, changing the interior to black. Car will be a nice driver but not show car.

I don’t have a paint gun nor want one haha. While the windshield is out, I might as well paint what I can.

What's the best color/finish rattle can to use on the dash?

    And on the upper cowl?

Flat black on area of the dash that shows between the dash pad and windshield... semi-gloss black on the upper cowl, and the lower portion of the dash metal. I used to make the transition about in the middle of the area where the pad covers it up. The factory used flat black on top to eliminate glare.

Look for duplicolor paint in the can, it sprays well, and is durable. AS good as anything you can shoot out of a gun.

Light coats are your friend, with time for the paint to flash off between coats.. Steering column is also painted semi-gloss.
