After 4 years without a GS, I am looking for another one.... a 4 cyl S-10 don't do much for entertainment. I have owned three GSs and one token Skylark. Bought my first 70 GS 350 at a garage sale in 1982 for $500. I put over 100,000 miles on my first one, which had a very early vin# of 100,256 no rust at all, brown on brown. Sold it due to moving cross country, that and it had some very large cracks in the frame.
#2 GS was another $500 deal-1969 Calif GS-had a blown rear main seal and the jerk who sold it did not tell me, got that fixed real quick and turned out to be great car. My buddy had a 1968 Calif GS and liked to try and beat me in 1/4 mile and over longer distances, for some reason he could never catch me (must have been the two speed powerglide!). Sold that one for the same reason as #1. #3 GS was another 1970 GS 350, yep, $500, a nice dark Blue GS 350 that had a knock in the motor. No biggee, drove it 125 miles home and completed a full engine rebuild in the driveway/garage in 8 days. Boy was the fun, Love working on older cars-new ones just flat out suck! Anyway, got the speed freak in me going after I got the thing disasembled, went with 11.5 pistons, milled the heads a thousanth to clean em up, and got the only cam I could find, can not remember the name or the specs but it was not a mild one. After assembling the motor and getting it running on a friday I had to be in Norfork, Va to start a military school so off we go on a 2,500 mile engine break run. Ran 65-85 the whole way. Got a speeding ticket for going 95 in Kentucky and almost would up in the local yokel jail. Averaged 10 miles to the gallon over the cousre of the trip. With tuneing i got it up to 12 but that was on a good day when i would keep my foot out of the gas...did not have too many of those. Made some good $$$ eating up folks who had no idea what a Buick can do when they are built right. Transfered cross country back to CA so sold my hotrod GS to a a fellow Buick lover. Currently looking for a good project car. Make it a big block this time. :TU:

I am avail monday-thursday afterworking hours if you need help wrenching or just talking GS's and you are located near Oceanside CA. Weekends are spent with the family in La$ Vega$, NV. Relocating to Nashville, Tn in the near future.
