64-67 Rear-end I need a rear end for my 65 Skylark that has a 3 series carrier.I'm not sure exactly what(rear-end) will fit my car but something complete minus the brakes would be great.I'm in CA.
I'm also looking for a shorty (64-67) 3.anything for my 67 Special. Posi or open is fine. I'd like one on the West coast. Can't imagine paying shipping from all you guys on the East.
Hi I have a posi rear end that came out of a 67 skylark 340-4 in 1980. Been inside since. Yours for $300. Like you said shipping could be a pain. I'm in Mich. Ron
I have a 2 stock 68' rears one is minus brakes the other is still in the car here in Hayward,Ca...Give a holla $$$ 150.00 for the both of them....
A '68 rear will bolt up, but it will be too wide. You can compensate with a deeper offset on the rear wheels but it's definitely recommended to stick with the shorter '64-'67 rear-ends.
I think a later rear may work because I have later 60's wheels on my car and they are tucked in the wheel wells alot, theres probably an 1 1/2" on each side of the car betwwen the tires and fender.
I have a rearend in a 65 Skylark you can have for $75.Your problem to get it to you.I'm in East Tennessee
Hello Skylark300, I have a complete rearend out of a '67 340-4 Skylark. It's an open rearend and the ratio I THINK is 2.78's. The axle bearings make some noise but otherwise I was driving it daily until 3 months ago. Sitting in my garage now. Let me know if your interested. I'm located in Washington State. Cheers,
rear end correction Hey Todd, I'm not lookn to BUY a rear, I have a posi for sale. Came out of a 67 Skylark 340-4.Stored 24 yrs. inside. Not sure of the ratio of mine either. People tell me it's stamped on the housing next to the pig.If I can't find it I might spin the wheel to figure it out.It came out of a 3spd. stick. Don't mean to look ignorant, but what is an OPEN rear end? Thanks Ron
