I need the metal bracket that attaches the rearview mirror on a 70 GS. I have the plastic cover but I'm missing the bracket that goes underneath it.

    Thanks

I bought one from Poston a few years back.

    Rick,

Are you talking about the bracket that that holds the mirror up or the one that clamps the ball down?

The one that holds the mirror up to the roof. I think it also clamps the ball down? My understanding of the parts needed are the mirror itself(I have), the stem with a ball on one end that connects to the back of the mirror(I have), a metal bracket that attaches to the roof and holds the stem(I don't have) and a plastic cover for the bracket(I have). Oh and some screws that I don't have either. Am I correct on the parts required?

    Rick,

Besides the bracket that attaches to the roof, there is also a small piece of metal that "sandwiches" the ball to the bracket with screws. I will see if I have any spares. I know I have a complete set attached to a mirror. Not sure if I want to break it apart right now. Hopefully someone else has just that part that you need. Let me know if you can't come up with what you need and I will see what I can do for you.

After further review I think I need the part that holds the mirror to the roof. I'll post a pic of what I need. Carl if you have an extra please let me know.

George, I will let you know as soon as possible.

    Thanks Guys

    Rick,

If George can get you the part you need at the junkyard, maybe that is the way you should go. If all else fails, let me know.
