Where can I find a rebuild kit? Autozone? I've had no luck anywhere on the internet (including ebay).

I'd expect any "real" parts store to have carb kits available for ordering.

My first choice is Standard/Hygrade "Jiffy Kits", but I've used 'em all. Last carb kit I bought was from NAPA.

I just got one from Advanced Auto Parts back in December. It was just a stock rebuild but made a world of difference on my 72 q-jet.

Standard is a good source, but I'll tell you...

If you can find an original GM kit for your carb it is worth the premium. The rubber o-rings and needle and seat have no comparison.

Be sure to epoxy the well plugs, I even do it on late ones for insurance, and be real nice as you tighten everything down. I go so far as to loosen the screw in the front of the airhorn between the bolts, and make it part of the tightening sequence when torquing the carb down. Good luck and no leaks so far.

Also, be sure you get the right base gasket, the rear pulloff passage goes out beyond some of the base gaskets and will create a leak.

Delco is the best and not that expensive. I buy them at a local Delco supplier for about 16 bucks I think. What year is your carb? I know the Delco part # for 71 and 72 455's

I have either a full or partial kit for a 71 olds carb around. I can check the part number or even sell you the kit if it is whole. Does a 75 carb have the angled or straight fron edge? If it is angled it is different.

Don't forget to also check the play in the throttle shafts. You'll be banging your head against something if you install an overhaul kit and have loose throttle shaft bores.

There are kits to repair that at home, if you choose to do it yourself.

The tops are also prone to warping, so take a good look at that too.

I can post that 71 Carb kit # later when I go home. That 7041540 is a 71 carb. This kit may still be available if i give you the number just try any GM dealer. Also Jim MCgowan at the Quad shop sells extra thick top gaskets to help with the warped air horn. I just use a double gasket and it works. probably best to let a pro re-bush the throttle. What is the carb # on the 75 carb? What is it off?
