    I have a friend with a restored 67 GTO with a 400 & Q-Jet.

Who is the best person to recommend him to for a total rebuild/restore of this unit.

    TIA

X2 on Ken. He did mine and it looks and runs like new. He puts them on an engine and sets them for you:Brow:

I can recommend Ken as well - he built the Quadrajet on my 350 now and it runs great:TU:

Thanks guys, I will pass on the information.

But after reading a thread on this board concerning a member having his carb making popping noises under acceleration, and the diagnosis of possible bad cam or burnt valves, I don't think the carb is the solution.

The GTO is doing exactly the same thing, and I passed the info along, but he's in denial and first wants to eliminate the carb by getting a quality rebuild.

    We shall see!

Thanks for the recomendation. We actually are not taking in any new work at this time, as our backlog has approached 12 months. We're only putting names on our call list, till we get the big pile of carbs in the shop knocked down some. I expect to start taking carbs in again around the first of next year.....Cliff
