Rebuilt/restored 12-bolt Chevy posi rear, with 3:31's. This came from CA and is flawless. The housing was hot-tanked,blasted,and powder-coated satin black.Original Eaton posi unit rebuilt with the good knurled steel clutches, and the original GM 3:31's are perfect.New Timken bearings/seals,and new Moser c-clip axles. Assembled, filled with fluid & additive and ready to run. $1800.00. I can ship this through Fastenal.
This is the narrower rear, which is 5/8" narrower on each side, compared to the 68-72 12-bolt Chevy,or the 66-72 BOP rears.
If you put rear discs on a rear like this,it brings the overall width back out, near to the wider width, depending on the brand of disc kit,and how thick their rotor hats are. For example:The rear disc kits that Baer sells have a pretty thick rotor hat. When you place one of their rotors on the rear,it takes up almost all of that hub pilot,on the axle flange, which are about 5/8" deep,so you are just about exactly where you started, with the wider rear and drum brakes.Obviusly some other rotor hats/brands are thinner, but just something to think about,if you already have the wheels you want under the car.
