I am about to send my bumpers to Tri-city plating. Am I making a good decision? Does anyone have any negitive feedback?
    Thanks, Gary

They do a great job and offer a lifetime warranty. Also, unlike many they will straighten the ones they can. I have never seen one of their bumpers peel.

    Thumbs Up for Tri-City

Gary, they have done 6 Buick bumpers for me and they all turned out great and the cost was very reasonable. :TU: A couple of the cores were so bad I was not sure they would even do them but they also turned out great. They have a lifetime warranty for the original owner but I have not had to use it.

I can also vouch for http://www.blplating.com/ in Warren, MI but they're not cheap. Buick chose them to do plating for their Enclave prototype.

They are just a hard working bunch of mountain boys from Tn. I have met them many times as they come to the Charlotte shows and they used to come to Raleigh before the Bumper Boys (who sell peeling bumpers )were allowed to come to the same show. It was a terrible loss for us here is Raleigh when they quit coming.

don't get me started on the Bumper Boys . Ruined my N25 , instead of chemical stripping the chrome they ground it off and as you can imagine yes they put holes all in the bumper , the plated over and left holes and said thats the best they could and would do . Have not even unwrapped the front one scared to look at it . If it is as bad as the rear I don't want to see it . So at this point i too am looking for a GOOD chrome shop .

Bumper Boys and anotherr vendor often shown on this Board are the only ones I have seen with the peeling. I have often wondered if the shop doing the chroming for these are one and the same.

Joe, just send the bumpers to Tri-City since the PA government makes them charge PA tax when at Carlisle so the cost is about the same (shipping = tax = :Dou: + :ball: ). Don't forget the entrance fee as well. I am heading to Tri-City on Monday to pick 1 up and drop 3 off since I will be driving close by for work. They have done several for me with excellent results. I know it is short notice but if you get them to me today or tonight I will drop yours off with mine Monday. My cell number is 240-793-4562.

    72 Cores?

Joe, I have a very nice set of 72 GS\Skylark bumpers good for a daily driver or for rechrome. I want $150 each and I will drop the off at Tri-City?

Just an update on the Bumpers. It only cost me 125.00 dollars to ship out from NH. I did not think that was bad. The only Negitive thing is that i have to wait 12 weeks!! They must be good to be backed up that long..

    $125 ouch

It should only cost about 25 or 30 bucks by UPS or FedEx.
Some UPS offices don't want to ship bumpers but they will so you must be firm with the counter person and have them call the boss if necessary. That is how Tri-City ships them.

    Bumpers

    Mike,

That included them boxing them up and insurance.Your right about the price though because they only weighed about 30 Lbs each.

Here's a pic of my tri city rear bumper. It still has not been waxed. This was a cruddy Ohio rust belt bumper with dings and a dented tail light opening. They did a great job. I would definitely use them again.
