Red wire from battery - Where does it go? Does it go to the bolt on the starter (red circle)? Or does it go to the center bolt in the solenoid (blue circle)? Manual shows the center bolt of solenoid with the two brown and black wires from the harness BUT I just don’t see how it can route up there. Wire is thick and will not bend out of the heat shield tray. It wants to go straight to bolt on starter. Thoughts? Thanks, Nick!
Thanks! Guess I gotta figure out how to bend the thick battery cable to the solenoid. Just thinking of why the starter has a bolt. Does anything go to the starter bolt?
I gotta figure out how to bend the thick battery cable to the solenoid. Go to your local pick-n-pull or Dealership and get the starter/battery cable off a GM truck... the starter end in a sweet factory 90degee cable end....
Thanks everyone for the help. I found this thread as well. Now I know where the little plastic piece on the engine harness goes. Looks like I get to redo everything I did yesterday. Mounting that wire block to the motor was a PIA. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...harness-wires-to-starter.308691/#post-2565486
anyone know where to get the proper end for the battery pos lead..the one with the bent over 90 degree tab/
When I repaired my positive battery cable, I searched for a "right angle lug terminal" If your looking for the exact replacement style that comes on the factory cable, I don't think those are available.
This is what I used from Amazon. Fastronix 90 Degree Tinned Copper Lugs 3/8" 2 Gauge 2 Pack Visit the Fastronix Solutions Store $9.99 ($5.00 / Count)
i think your right,i have searched all over.those were the best,,,it kept the wire in placve while you tightened the nut
I have used Custom Battery Cables for years https://custombatterycables.com The cables are well build and you can have almost anything made with pigtails, lugs, clamps etc. Unless your looking for Concourse originality. Racing, swaps, custom, etc. I highly recommend checking them out.
