I am going to remove the axle from my Apollo (with leaf springs). If I support the car and let the axle hang, is there still a good deal of tension in the springs? What should I expect when I release the springs from the car? I have always used a spring compressor when removing coils.
It might 'boing' a little, not a big deal. Rust can be a real pita, especially if the thru bolts are rusted to the inner sleeves of the spring bushings. Might have to cut bolts ends off if bolts won't slide out. Good luck with it...
