    anyway to possibly do this??

just bought a 72 metal grille (skylark) from a junk yard today -- 25 dollars.

a portion of the metal surrounding the actual grille is missing

is there anyway i can fix this???

It could be done but would be a pain in the neck. I believe this is a pot metal grill you have to braze another piece onto it. You have to you a white metal brazing rod and a propane torch.
Go here this guy seems to have it all figured out. Muggy
    Lots of luck.:Comp:

I just called about 20 places around me -- no luck. either they had an attitude, or said this couldn't be done

anyone have any places they could point me to that specialize in this, or have done this before for you

    thanks, Niko

Did you check that website? He has the materials you need and some cool instructional videos as well. Give it a try yourself. You might become that grill repair man everyone needs. I have brazed all kinds of stuff in the past but never pot metal. Im sure it should'nt be to hard.

"Can't be done" means, in this case, "I can't be bothered"

:af: Metal ain't magic and it can be done

I received an estimate of 1000 dollars. No joke.

I rather have somebody professionally do this, because there is no doubt I will ruin this grille.

Northrop-Gruman has a plant around there. Try to get a lead on a certified aircraft welder either there or retired from there. They are used to doing more of the delicate work. Call the local union office and I will bet they can help direct you to such a person now retired or who does work on the side.

    Ivan G,
Thanks for the posting of the site. I am currently trying to get my A/C condensor repaired and may need this information which I have saved in my favorites. Thanks again Ivan.
