I just got a set of 1969 Reproduction Plates. They make them any way you desire, I decided to go with a 69 remake of my present plates. BWARE GS The web site is www.licenseplates.tv
Looks good. Did you actually register your car with those? The colors are a bit off. The blue looks a little light and the orange looks too yellow. But for a novelty plate, its looks perfect! :TU:
Jason, it must be the picture, the plate is the correct colors. Did you notice the registration sticker, brand new, not a reproduction, but the real McCoy
repro plates theses are great for car shows but definitley not street legal, read their diclaimer on their website, these plates are for novelty and show use only!!!not street legal!!!
I have vanity plates on my GS, (BWARE GS) These are reproductions of those plates. No they are not street legal. Either are open headers, slicks, tires sticking out of the wheel wells, tinted windows and numberous other things, still doesn't stop people from driving their cars.
Here in Illinois these plates can be used on your antique car legally. If your car is registered as an antique vehicle (more than 25 years old) you are allowed to drive with plates that are specific to the year of the vehicle. In my case for my 70 GS I would need to have the 1970 Illinois plates. The only requirement is that you must carry the actual registered plates in the vehicle. It might be worth checking to see if your state has a similar law you may not be aware of. I have been pulled over by cops that did not know this law existed until I told them to look it up.
Dan Here in NY, we have a similar law. You can take vintage plates and have the DMV check them, if no one esle has them in the state, Then you can have them registrated to your vehicle.
Michigan, too. I have a 1974 Manufacturer's plate ("M" plate) registered to my Chevelle and an original 1931 plate on my Model A. K
Likewise MD (except 20 years)...real '71 plates on GS. Not so GN...MD used same plate '86-'04...vanity instead...
I still have two sets of plates I can't use anymore if any NY'ers like the correct vintage look contact me for price. Ron
Good to know...have a 70-71 FL tag, and 66 motorcycle...in case I move mine there. Do you happen to know which county is "32"...
This is what I have on the Cat. The front plate is from that website. Can't use it in Washington. The rear is an original from '63. We only need one plate here on the back for a classic. I got lucky with the rear plate.
I wanna get one of these for my buddies 66 Chevelle View attachment untitled.bmp View attachment kjk.bmp View attachment 4w6h.bmp
