    Repro Metal Housing Tach

Just rec`d my new repro tach.

Clocking in at 2000 RPM out of the box.

Will this thing zero out once powered ?.

I`m a Little Leary as I purchased it to replace the early style plastic housed unit which never did work.

    Any comments appreciated.:Do No:

After market tachs can have an air core movement. They reset everytime you power them up. I have a hard time believing your reproduction tach is that modern. Does it have 3 leads, or are the connections like a stocker? If it has 3 leads, ground it and apply 12 volts, and see if the needle goes to zero. If it doesn't, send it back.

Larry, two leads just like the stock unit.

The stock unit has one lead, and is grounded at the case. Sounds like it is defective to me.
