I'm looking for a high quality reproduction wiper arm and blade set for 68-72 A Body. I've found several sources online with different prices and part numbers. Are any better than the rest or are they all about the same? The cheapest I've found is from parts place inc.
I don't know why you would want Chinese repro arms on your car when there are a wazillion originals out there in good shape. Repro blades that are nice were available from NAPA, I'm not sure if they still have them.
I would really rather not, but I would like them to look new. NOS arms are $200+ each and I can't justify $500 for wipers when a suitable alternative may be available for <$100. Used ones probably won't be any better than what I have. I'm good on the blades I have good original Trico ones. Mainly looking for the arms. All repros come as a set is the reason for the thread.
If I were you I would contact "Then & Now Restorations" from Marietta Georgia and see what they use. They build Gold Concours class cars all the time. The owner is Mark Reeves and is on this board. The idea of spending $500 on a pair of wipers just doesn't seem right to me. Duane
Good used arms are a dime a dozen. They are on ebay all the time. Chevelle +SS, Cutlass+ 442, LeMans + GTO all used the same arms. You do know there is a difference between depressed wiper arms and non-depressed, right? I have only seen 3 probs with used arms. 1...they are just scratched + beat, 2...the drvr side with the extra small arm is worn or missing the clip, 3...the spring is rusted or broken. You can buy a repro spring now, it's available. Ask here, I'm sure peeps have arms to sell.
Mine are depressed park. NOS on ebay $225 each side. Used ebay fall into one of those 3 categories and are no better than what I have which falls into #1. Still no answer to the original question of are there any decent repros, but I'll assume the answer is no as it seems the consensus is good used originals and NAPA for new replacement blades if/when needed.
