Hi all, If you could please add my uncle Tom to your list of prayers I know it would help alot. On Saturday at 2am my Uncle, who had a bad cold woke up coughing & developed chest pains in the process. He went to the hospital to be checked out and as the doctors asked him about his history, he got a bad pain, his heart stopped and he fell to the floor.:eek2: They zapped him once & got him back, ray: admitted him into IUC, then zonked him out with a mega dose of drugs to help the heart recope and put a tube down him to help him breath. By late Saturday afternoon, to everyone amazement the tube was out & he was sitting up in bed. They have ruled out pneumonia or anything else. They even said all the test came back negative for a heart attack Turns out he seems to have some weakening of his heart muscle. They did the angiogram this morning and it revealed that he has many blockages so therefore, he will be having at least a double bypass surgery on Wednesday. He was dad's best friend and had been since they were grammer school kids. He's a stubborn Ol' Irishman like my dad was so I know he's a fighter, but I also know extra prayers always help. He's the closest thing I have to a dad now and I love him dearly. Thanks in advance all, Beth
Beth, Dana & Liam too, your on my prayer list tonight. As you know our father has had a heart attack and recieved a quad bypass 3 years ago. He is now on peritonal dialisysis awaiting a liver transplant. We definatly know what your going through.
Hi all, Just wanted to let you know those prayers worked, my Uncle Tom is home & recovering. He ended up having a quad bypass. The day after the surgery the nurses would come in to give him is pain meds & he would refuse "I'm not in any pain" he would say. He's moving a bit slow and gets tired easy he says, but is on the road to recovery.:TU: Thanks for keeping him in your prayers. Beth
Best of luck and prayers for you guys at this time. ENJOY your time with him, we all run out eventually. Live it like it's the last at all times. Bless you guys and take care. AL
Beth, glad your Uncle is doing better now. As you do know, all of our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Uncle Tom is doing much better, he had to have a defibulator installed about 2weeks after the bypass, but whatever keeps him around alot longer, we have no problem with. He takes lots of naps now and he always thought they were a waste of time. ou:  Thanks again everyone for your thoughts & prayers. Beth
my prayers go out to you and yours. I was just in the hospital for 3 weeks due to having pneumothorax (lung collapse) so i know the stress you must be going through. God Bless
Tell ole Uncle Tom that there is nothing wrong with taking naps. I like to get in a few naps, myself. For what it is worth, my wife had a similar situation and before she turned 60, she had a heart attack. Luckily, she was already in the hospital with chest pains. They put her on a clot buster and she had two stents put in her left descending cardiac artery. She is on Plavix and several other things. Her arteries are clear and she is taking names and kicking butt. Prayer was my main stay and I have already said a couple of silent prayers for dear ole Uncle Tom. Here's hoping he continues to do well. Not all heart incidents turn out badly. And the power of prayer is Awsome!!! Kindest regards,
