Other part was the reservoir onto the pump, damn that’s a tight squeeze!

I have a seal kit at home and was planning to repair the one in my wife's car. I have never done one of those but I am pretty sure it will not be too bad. Thanks for the info

I have done a couple of these, get the Edelman kit from Rock auto, much better price, appears to be same kit as Gates, just different boxes. I replaced the shaft bushing too, that requires a press. Agreed spring and front seal are the worst part. Getting the nut off the front pulley is far easier with an impact. I added a magnet to the fluid reservoir to catch stuff and I painted the case with chassis saver as that withstands the ATF fluid. Good winter project….

    Yep!
The Edelman kit from Rock Auto was 12.00 with shipping;)
The Edelman kits are the best for the steering box and pump.
I did all the seals, the pump shaft seal I used a screwdriver to pop the old one out, and a socket to tap the new one in, no press needed.
The only special tool I needed was the pulley puller/installer, but I’ll get my 43.00 back from OReillys :D
Just be sure to not miss the 3 “O” rings on the pump to case, it seals the 2 studded bolts and the pressure fitting.
