I'm new here, I just introduced myself before the Big Bang (I mean the one when V8 crashed, not the one the non-believers preach :rant: !!!) Anyway, I work with 2 other men one night a week on a local outreach project. We currently have 3 young men we meet with one evening a week. These young men have either already taken the wrong trail in life, or are deemed to be at risk to. We have built a 4 cylinder car for dirt tracking, and are now working on a 77 Firebird Formula drag car. :3gears: I am looking for fresh ideas for the first 1/2 hour of our evening, which is when we have a Bible study/life lesson with these young men. :Smarty: One of us mentors prepares a short message/lesson and we have a discussion on it. If anyone has seen any good books or has any good ideas for these times that you may have heard or used, I'd love to use them. At this point, one of our boys has made a committment to the Lord, one is "struggling" I would say, and the 3rd had a DUI about 15 months ago. He is a faithful attendee, but so far is showing no sign of conviction. He is there because he loves cars, as do the other two. Thanks in advance. Carl

resources Having been a teacher in the past I would advise the book "A purpose driven life" It is the best I have ever seen and is available at wal mart, books a milion, ect. It is tough to minister to people in jails , half way houses, ect, but this is down in the trenches as it were, ministry. Keep on God will lead and advise You. This book is part of a system of book ,videos, ect. that was designed to build a sense of self worth, and Gods love. Just the ticket to reach the kind of people that You minister to. :TU:
