hey guys, are there any restoration cataloga for buick skylarks. I normally restore firebirds, and there are tons of catalogs for them. it doesnt seem to be the same for the skylark. how do you get repro parts for these cars??
I have used a number of vendors during my restoration of a 70 Skylark Custom Convertible. YEAR ONE was the one I used the most, Poston's for engine parts, TA Performance, CARS, OPG, and National Parts Depot. I like NPD for their Chevelle catalog. Many of our parts were interchangeable with Chevelle, Lemans or Cutlass so it was a good way to check prices on parts as well. BTW, is there a 455 in that WS6 Firebird yet? postons also sells a book, which i think im gonna get....its about this guy who is restoring his 71' Stage 1, tips and tricks and what not....i think its called: Buick GS, Performance & Restoration Anyone ever heard of it.....thoughts??
Russ mentioned the primary sources.... I also like these non-Buick sources. Many items aren't specifically sold for the GS but will fit: Ames Performance (Pontiac) www.amesperf.com Ground-Up (Chev) www.ss396.com Get the printed catalogs! I found these vendors at the larger swap meets. Don't hesitate to look over their Chev/Pont/Olds products!
