Here is the steering wheel that I restored on my 1968 SpecialDeluxe stationwagon. I utilized POR-15 putty to repair the cracks. I'm kinda proud of my work. What do you guys think?.............................John

    John,
Looks very nice. How big were the gaps before the repairs? Did you need to build up the fill, or did one application work? How long has it been since the repairs were made? I have a 68 wheel also that needs a crack filled.

    Thanks,

    Patrick

Patrick, I had a 1/4 inch crack on the backside of the steering wheel. Numerous 1/8 inch cracks on the rim. Two layers of the putty before the sanding was done, with 24 hours in between applications. The putty was applied about three months ago. Worked out pretty well........................................John

    John,
Nice repair job. :TU: Have been trying to find time to repair a wheel too. What kind of paint did you use and what color? Really looks good.
