I was bored a couple weeks back and took my pro street buick out for a ride. Some of the newer car crowd hangs out close to my house so I stop by. Not my seen with a bunch of young kids handing around looking at the cars. After a while I leave to come home. I notice two guys making a B line for a C5 vette. I get down the feeder road aways when they pull up beside me. They try to get me to play but why should I. Then they purge the system out the windshield and give the car a quick hit so I can hear the modified exhaust and obvious motor. Now I've heard about a nitrous'd C5 running low 10s picking on the local kids. I'm thinking what the hey I've got to pop this cherry sometime. They down shift holding it waiting for my move so I just mat it in high gear. I've got to tell you, our beloved BBB love a tunnel ram with one barrel per hole. Anyway, I just drive away like no big dill. They didn't seem to upset about the loss. They wanted to go from a dig but without my stickeys on this is just useless.

A week later I put on my Hoosiers and new front springs so I could see what this beast can do. Not having the cage certified yet and still missing some required equipment for the track like windows with holes (shaved door handles). I setup a little experiment with a buddy's square port rat powered 69 camero. I spec'd out this car so I know where it runs on and off spray. It's a roller motor, 9" ford ladder bar street car running 11.0ish on motor and 10.0ish on spray. Results, on motor I just drove away badly so we decide to give him the best chance and play to his strengths go from a roll in second spraying me. In second and midway thru third gear I pulled away some then at very high speed he could come back up on me. I think by this point I'm beyond 1/4 mile trap speeds.

I'm very happy with my little street car at this point. When my custom windows come in I'm get some track time and dial this thing in. Should post some good numbers.

sounds like a good run, and a very nice setup with your ride.

    Hey David,

Nice to see your car again. Is the car show at Kroger's still going on Saturdays? I moved to the southwest side of town now but would like to come up to the show sometime.
