This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. I just rebuilt my first carb and it actually turned out great except for one thing. It has a bog when you first floor it but otherwise works way better than before.I also noticed that the fuel pump appears to be seeping at the top.Could this cause it and what else could i check or adjust?

When you say leak at the "fuel pump," are you talking about the actual engine fuel pump on the front of the engine, or the pump on the carb?
If you are talking about the actual engine fuel pump, replace it, but it is not likely related to your problem. Your problem is probably the accelerator pump, which is the little "pump" on the carb that is activated when you move the throtle. If this is leaking, that makes perfect sense with your symptoms. Got to fix it somehow--new kit?

Yes - could be. Check and make sure the lip seal on the plunger of the accelerator pump did not "roll" out of position when you installed it. Lube it up a bit with fuel before you put it back in, and make sure you are getting a decent pump shot when you stroke the lever. Make sure there isn't anything in the bore to disrupt that seal.

If not you may have to try and find another pump seal/plunger and try again.
