I thought Tom had a brand new ride? Using the progess of the 58 as a yardstick, it was supposed to be frame off'd,balanced, blueprinted , ported polished, balanced, dyno'd, AACA judged and shot for a magazine feature by now!
I like it...so now the PLP will have a full menu. Eats, meats, sweets...and drinks...LOTS of 'em! See y'all tomorrow night!
Nope, been working on a 440,then rocket football started, overtime started, screwed my back up 2nd week of July,ad couldn't do crap until a week ago. Any car progress is shot this year.:ball:
Frank.... Those threads are (I think ) 10-32. The way to repair those is with a helical. McMaster Carr sells them ,as I'm sure others do too . Here's a hyperlink to the page from the McMaster Carr catalog http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-threaded-inserts/=oh3v4s . They sell kits that contain different depth helicals and the drill bit and installation tool . You can buy the helicals bits and tools individually, but I don't think there's a savings there, plus the hassle. If you are reluctant to do this yourself ,I have a carb service in my area that does this all the time and can tackle it for you. If you'd like, bring the carb to the race and look me up. I'll deliver the carb to them and have it fixed. I'll then ship it back to you. I've had them do this for me before with excellent results. Rich C.
Our group has: Larry: '70 Javelin Trans Am 390 4spd go pack Jody: '74 Goat with 350 4psd and looking to stare up the skirt of one little filly as he never will see anything but its dainty rear Paul: '74 SD T/A per usual Mark: '65 K Code Mustang 2+2 4spd, praying to overcome Jody's herculean effort to power up the goat I understand Rich Rinke will be breaking out a new '69 Z car for the first time. These threads are in the cover. This is a 4000 series carb, not the Holley4150 or 60. I'll find out later, but they're more like an inch straight pipe. ar will be there with an AFB, if they'll let me run. I'll bring the float bowl with me. thanks
The vette is ready to be loaded at 4pm on my new free rusty open trailer that comes with free storage year round, if you have an open cut, stay far away as it has some patina on it. We will see how long 4th gear lasts, as the syncros are going Kilano is bringing the hemi bird, Paul and bk are coming as well
Why do people haul $30-$50k (or more) cars around on junk trailers? Or pull with underpowered, under braked tow vehicles like Rangers and S10's? Just heard from Rusty, blew a tire on Hodges truckin Illinois somewhere this morning. Hauling a whole trailer load of new tires, almost ironic. He said Hodges was about an hour behind him.. should have capped a few cold ones, waited for him to catch up and tell him "YOUR tire blew out".
Just waiting for the wife to get home from work so i can say BYE can head out. Oh yeah, and so someone is here to watch my 7 year old.
