Some know the saga, but I will entertain the rest of the masses. I finally convinced my wife that a truck and trailer are a necessary evil in life. :grin: She says,"OK." I proceed with great haste to call a friend of ours in Milan to procure a tow vehicle. The arrangement is then worked out for a trailer in IN. It was going to be easy, fly in for a sales meeting Aug 18-19 and drive home, picking up the trailer along the way. Sales meeting date changes, to Sept. 15 and 16 :eek2: . Try to figure out how a young man in KC can get his tow vehicle (in MI) and trailer (in IN) without spending a lot of cabbage and still make the race. Recieve word yesterday that the sales meeting has been changed yet again to Sept 14 and 15th! Have convinced a couple of hoodlums to go get trailer in IN, get it mated to the tow vehicle in MI and will meet up with them in MI on the 13th. Yes, once again, the Hurst will cover about 800 miles under its own power to get to this race, but will not recieve long distance honors because it will show up on the back of a trailer! :shock:

 

I plan on being there.......

You may want to drive the Hurst from here to Stanton and not only receive the long distance award again, but be assured you'll even make it. :laugh: :laugh: The adventure begins on the way home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty, so thats what Paul was eluding to when I talked to him on the phone the other day. Let's hope things work out.

I'll be there as a spectator. I did hear of a couple cars being shipped from CA. 68 H/O and a 69 W-30 post. Then obviously the owners/drivers/racers will be flying in.

 

I,ll be there with the GTO and the Olds. Bringing two buddies,one has a 67 Impala (427 4 speed) :3gears: car that is being built, the other is looking for the "right" Olds :

Good to hear you're on board again this year Diego. Dan and myself will be there again for the annual pilgrimage. We're starting to feel like spawning salmon heading up river each year. Man I love this event. We may have some friends joining us to spectate who are thinking of joining the ranks next year. Haven't heard boo from the other "Ontarians" in a while. Will the "central office" guys be chiming in soon?

Also, any word on who might be certifying what this year?

Dan and I did not get the '70 RA IV T/A done :ball: So the Judge gets the call. So much for its second retirement.

Diego it is done. Waxed it last night. All that original paint is holding in there.

Motor is dyno'd and the article is off to Steve.

I will drive it depending on weather this weekend to Woodward. Will you be around other than Stanton?

kenny and i will be there,with my old max wedge [now kenny's]and my new car,if i get it ready ,otherwise we will bring both maxies.hopefully we have fewer problems than the kil-kare trip.my wife is trying to ride along also but i'm trying to stop that idea because she does'nt know i drink or have fun when she's not around.two of the cars that are certifying are jim's 6pac bee,jeff's maxie and a couple others that don't come to mind right now.

I'll be there -- not to race, just making a general nuisance of myself.

 

My brother-in-law Chris and myself will be there. We will be bringing his green 69 dodge dart on a trailer this time instead of driving like we did at kil-kare. I'm pretty sure his gas cap being on when we get there is a whole lot safer this way. Looking forward to seeing all the guys again. :laugh: Don Harber
