A very nice car you have! I have to admit, I'm a bit partial to 1966 Electras myself...And you've got a couple of options on your car that I would love to have on mine; - the cruise control, and the air-conditioning. Is the upholstery original? If so, could you post of picture of the front seat, back and front, so I could see the pattern? My car has seat covers on it and I suspect that the original upolstery is still under them, I just need to see what they are actually suposed to look like.
Marc, His interior looks original. When you compare the upholstery seat pattern in the pics of his car to the '66 Electra seat pictures from the 1966 brochure below, they look the same: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=124579
Thanks Rob, From what I can feel through the seat covers it appears that the original upholstery may still be there. The covers that were put on are close to the original pattern, and it looks like it was a professional job. They're starting to look a bit ratty and filthy, but they're still serviceable. Now to work up the guts to pull them off and see what disaster lies beneath...ray: God hates a coward I guess...
Yeah, seats are a disconnect for me since I don't work on upholstery. Mine are original but I have two slight seam separations that I will probably try to get addressed this winter. Good luck with yours. Back to the thread topic, Mino's Electra's seats look very good from what can be seen in the pics.
thanks all for the compliments MARC,i'll post more pics of the seats this week,i'll have to find a new camra,i hope it can help you in return, can you please send me pics of your electra engine housing,i 'll have to restore the vacuum hose routing on mine and there is no diagram in my shop manual, some pics can show me how it has to be thing I don't say,i also have a CITROEN DS and my father car RENAULT 16 i restore in 2003
hi tyler, some interest for the french cars? it's a R 16 one of the first call TS(tourism sport) in 1970 during restoration painting
Mino, I have an interest in almost all cars! That is a car that I have not seen or heard much about, so it sparked some interest. And it looks like it would make a cool racecar.
Mino, I'll see what I can do about the engine compartment photo;- What systems are you trying to hook up? I can only photograph the basics, because my car doesn't have all of the options yours does, however I've had some Buicks with all of the options, and I have the 1966 Air-conditioning manual from Buick. I'll probably wind up drawing you a map, if necessary.
