Keep on truckin John you will be tuff as nails before you know it. I'm lifting 8 lbs to 15 lbs on those bells. So I'm doing good. I'm not getting sore afterwards also so I feel great
Good morning Joe, Sounds like you are doing really good. Glad to hear that! I started laughing to myself when you were talking about lifting the weights. Sometimes I'll be doing an exercise and it's really hard to do it. I start thinking... Maybe I never could lift that much weight. Then I have my right arm try it, and I find out it's easy as can be. Bummer! Give it back to weak azz lefty. Last week I took a couple days off from my exercises. I had to change the rear axle seals on my 3/4 ton Chevy truck. Sure am glad I discovered that before I left for Virginia. I would have surely fried that rear end!) Luckily my arm works real well laying on my back. I got it all sealed back up, new brake shoes, and filled with oil. I've also been cleaning and repainting all kinds of little parts that go in the engine compartment of my 69 Skylark. I spent a whole day using a cutoff saw with a big, mean wire brush on it to get all the undercoating off the inner fender wells and radiator core support. It's just about ready for painting. Now it's time to get the house ready for hurricane season. We leave for the summer so I put up ALL the storm shutters just in case a storm comes our way. I need one of my sons to come over and get the rest of the shutters down from where I put them. I can't get my arm up to help with that chore. Oh well... time to edge the sidewalks and mow the yard. At least it is breezy today. Y'all have a GREAT day!!! John
Thats the first time Ive heard of a "Sweat Penguin". Hmm . Goin' north of the Mason-Dixon line or just the frost belt? ws
Oh yes Bill. They make all kinds of penguins. This penguin hates sweat so he goes to the mountains of Virginia for the summer. Once I traveled north on U.S. 11 until I came upon the Mason Dixon line. I did not dare to cross it for fear of retribution, so I turned around and went back home. At the end of this summer I am traveling west to Missouri to attend a wedding. I can freely go there because it is part of the Missouri compromise. Oh Lord, where am I going?
Dear Joe, My arm goes up, a lot! No picture, or video yet because it doesn't equal yours yet from a couple of months ago. Friday night we were all over Jack's garage watching the truck race. I raised my hand up into the air and it stayed there for a long time. So I handed it a full beer from my right hand. It went d o w n. Everybody busted out laughing!!! Bummer, but it is getting better! I haven't done my exercises for 2 weeks, but before anyone yells at me I have worked non-stop getting the house, and cars, ready for leaving for the summer. Virginia, and cooler mornings, here I come!!! The 69 Skylark engine compartment is looking real good! I made dumbazz "lefty" do a lot of work. Last weekend we went to mudfest. It's basically a cattle farm, they move all the cows to a different field, flood the pasture land and let the crazies go wild! Truck pulls, mud bogs, women mud wrestling, and more. My son has an old K5 blazer and I took my sandrail. We had a GREAT time!!! The house... holy bad word! It's almost ready for a hurricane. We always put up all the storm shutters for the summer. Who the hell is "we?" I always put up ALL the storm shutters. My wife watches TV. Anyway, the house is ready for hurricane season while we are gone. The only thing I need are supplies. Beer, beer, and more beer. My grandson's 4th birthday is tomorrow. We had a big family / friend birthday party Sunday. That boy is AWESOME!!! That's about it for me. I'm going off the grid for a while. That means my summer house is in the sticks, and we barely get service for even texting, but it's nice!!! Exercise.... I told Brianna I was taking ALL my "tools of torture." Weights and bungee cords are coming with me. I look forward to my favorite exercise. We have 2 rivers right down the street. In the old days before kayaks my son and I would get on floaties. air mattresses, and we found out going backwards was way faster than paddling forward. So that is what I'm going to do, a lot! Anyway... Joe, I hope you are doing GREAT!!! Lucas, I hope your racing is going well!!! Yachtsman Bill, I hope your boating season is great!!! JC1 out....... OK, some pictures... 1. about 15 minutes into Friday night at mudfest. I swore I wasn't going into the mud! 2. Sleeping on a 2 X 12 board. It was FREEZING in the camper, to me! 3. Hanging out in the woods for shade. The kids found a cow jaw complete with teeth. Yes we kept it! 4. Kind of a before picture. 5. Not finished yet, but it will be ready for BG!
That's great John your crushing it Looks like you guys had a blast Skylark is looking killer now the fun and easy stuff begins putting it all back together and not getting dirty. I actually have a doc appointment this morning so we will see what they say I assume I'm just about done I still have two more weeks of physical therapy and I'm sure they will release me. I have no pain so I'm good. They only thing I haven't tried is to throw a ball that seems a bit scary. Have a great day
Morning Joe, Me too. No pain! My numb spot is still numb. I think it is the plate inside. When I touch, or lean against something with my shoulder it's numb like fingers feel when they're cold. I can live with that. I'm pretty much back to normal from head height to down low, so my exercises will be just concentrating on over my head stuff. Yes, it is fun putting all the newly painted CLEAN parts back in the engine compartment!!! Have a GREAT day!!!
3rd race today, won my class and took 9th overall . Lots of fast stuff including an Ariel Atom, but the beater held its own. Hope your vacation is going good, Joe, and hope you're doing well John!..... Not a bad looking place to race . Those are the Mission Mountains in the background.
Here is the bruise on your left leg you get to wake up with the day after road racing something with a bench seat.
Joe, this bud is for you and me! I went back this morning and read all 11 pages of your thread. We have come a long, long ways! I do have to say I am up in Virginia, and a cold front came through today. It is damp, Breezy, and cold. My shoulder is not happy at all! I really thought the aches and pains were over for the last couple of years. I sure am glad I live down south where it's nice and warm almost all year round! Thanks for the good times buddy!
Hey Uncle Yes we are taking it back for sure. I agree those cold mornings when I load the trailer and throw straps ain't no joke.
Guess what I went and did? Yep, bicep again! Going in Thursday for a steroid shot, see if that helps. I think it broke lifting that damn JVC receiver!
Dang Harold, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. I hope everything goes excellent for you! Think positive thoughts
