Rover, or 3.8 Fuel Injection for the 350?

Hey kids, quick bonehead question: Has anyone tried modifying a Rover or even a 3.8 fuel injection setup for the 350? I really haven't studied the Rover or later 3.8 FI setups, but couldn't the requisite electronics be used along with the Throttle Bodies from say, a later sbc to fit on the buick's four barrel manifold?

I would check out using either an LT1 or LSx wiring harness, sensors and computer. Many of those are sequential EFI, so that's a plus. Adding GM sensors is the better way to go.

Take a look at EFI Connection to see what they are doing to older engines.

There is no easy way to swap on a MPFI setup onto a Buick 350. if you are willing to spend about $3000 then I can give you info on that route...

If you want simple EFI without spending too much money then here are the two best options in my mind:

#1 Powerjection 3 EFI, it looks like a carb and has all the sensors inside! I bought a used setup for half of new price

#2 Use a GM TBI setup off a 88-95 454 chevy truck, with a megasquirt computer. The TBI for the 350 chevy was too small the 454 is large enough for a mild Buick 350. Trying to use any factory computer will be more trouble than it is worth this is why I suggest a megasquirt computer. This optionn can be pretty ecenomical however if you add up the price off all the sensors it is not much less than option #1, and chances are that if you get a used 454 TBi you will have to replace some of the sensors.

I am going to run the Powerjection 3 on my Skylark since it is WAY less complicated than the MPFI system I had put together but never used.

My dream project is a Buick T-type set up with a Buick 350 in it as if it was a factory option. Turbo, fuel injected, intercooled all those goodies. I would love to do more research on what exactly would be needed to bring the 350 up to par from a technological standpoint

Just an FYI there are systems out there that don't cost alot and have a slew of features over and above the PJIII and Megasquirt.
