    Should I put any type of silicone or rtv between the carb\block and the gasket??

    You mean the base gasket? Nope, and nothing else related to the carb either.

    That's a big No. Don't over torque the bolts either. It doesn't take much to seal.

    Not much more than finger tight or you can warp the air horn

    Don't put any sort of sealer between the carb and the gasket, but it's OK to use a small amount to glue the gasket to the intake.

    I also coat the top of the gasket (bottom of the carb) with a small amount of car paste wax, as a release agent. I do the same thing with my intake gaskets. I can pull the carb and/or intake scores of times and the gasket stay in place and are fine.

    This is done simply because I test a LOT of intakes and carbs, and don't want to buy gaskets every time I do a swap......Cliff
