We are still in need of 70-72 outer wheel houses and 70 grille moldings to use as samples to get these parts reproduced. Please give us a call at 800-442-0411 or 630-365-1800, or pm me through the board. We need a little help to get these much need parts made. Thanks
Hi Shane,I have a NOS 70-72 outer wheelhouse I am sending to you this week.I talked with someone last week I just haven't found a box to ship in yet.
Thanks Rusty and Jim, The more things we are able to get help with, the more things that we will have available. If we have nice original or nos parts to make the new ones off of, the better the parts will be reproduced. We want to make parts for you, as they are much needed. Thanks Again
Shane, Did you ever discuss it with your boss about making the 70-2 headlight bezels????? This is definitely a needed item and should be a lot easier to make then the grills. Also, you said grill moldings and JW said he will send the stainless. Did you know there is stamped steel "chin" piece that is body colored? This is a needed item also.
Shane, Do you need 70-72 nos quarter panels and front fenders to sample for reproduction? If so, let me know.
outer wheel hoousings would be abosolutly amazing. approximatly how long will it take for them to be available. I'll hold off on the 1/4s till they are ready. thank you sooooo very much. :beer
Shane, How about a nice OEM 70-71 and 72 Snorkel for the Ram Air Air Cleaner? I have both pieces that would make good molds. I also have a correct shrould for a 72 Big Block as well.... Thats all I can think about for now....
Gauge Cluster Shane, Would you be interested in making the gauge cluster for 70-72? I have a NOS cluster. Ernie
Good, now I don't feel so bad, I had a perfect one someone cut out of a car for me already to be installed but i had already sent it off to my welder, not sure if I can even get a pic. it is as good as a nos piece and cut out accordingly. Of coursesuch a prestine piece did not come cheap but my car is my baby and I only want the best for it. Allen
I have some nos conv. quarter panels, nos h/t outer wheelhousings, nos trunk floor extensions, nos door skin, etc.
wow, i wish could say the same, I sometimes wonder if I should just save the few nos stuff I was lucky to find, yes a door skin and quarter to name a few. I am putting this stuff on a skylark, not really collector value but sentimental value as I know I could not afford a real big block stage one gs and the nos stuff was a fraction of the cost. But if the nos stuff is still floating around and repros can be made from it then by all means please do so. Allen
Did you know that NOBODY makes correct battery cables for the late 71 and all 72 455 powered GS's??? That might be a good one. I have M&H looking at it right now, I have used originals (good enough for templates but not good enough for shows) and would donate to the cause if we could get correct repros made. Later Tim
Tim...I think I might have found something. Check out the NPD catalog under Ignition, wiring, Charge. They list side post battery cables for Chevelles. Now look at the last digits of the part numbers listed. I believe that is the length. I dont remeber the lengths you posted. Would any of these come close??
Ok...I found your old post. You need a 42"positive and a 27" negative. NPD lists a 44" side post positive and a 28" side post negative. These have got to be the Lectric limited cables but with the super secret lengths posted
Jason, that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I never noticed the numbers at the end.....think its worth ordering to find out???LOL I do, and will do soon need a few other things too. Good catch. I'll let you know how it works out. later Tim
hey you know what, I was just looking again and I'm not sure that is the length after all Look at the early ones, they have numbers like c-2341-3....can't be 3" long, yet the later ones almost seem to follow the length pattern with some questions... I might just go for it anyway, and see what happens. I did contact M&H and they seem happy to help, I gave them all the specs I have and they are trying to match it up or might even be able to make new ones but we'll see.....I'm gonna have more batt cables laying around this place...!!! Later Tim
Maybe the spring rings are numbered differently? The side post part number suffixes seem to correlate to lengths to me also o No: I guess your going to be the guinea pig on this one! lol
