Stumbled across an 86/87 Regal Limited today. Stopped to ask if it'd be for sale & if so how much. Yes, they'd sell it - $300. Body is arrow-straight, no rust. Interior is decent; has the usual wear. I expected the engine was shot, but it's a runner. Only problem is a bad seal in the transmission.

I'll be using the front nose cone & taillights to update my '83. The hood, trunk lid & top chrome to replace the "Bis-mark'd" ones on my car (local slang for hail damage - we get a lot of it).

From there, I'll turn it over to you guys - send me a list of what ya need, I'll check what condition its in & give ya price.

With my garage remodel starting this week, it'll be a couple weeks before I pick it up, so you'll need to be a little patient.

Hi Greg; How are the chrome rocker panel mouldings. I need a couple of the pieces if they are straight, dent free, and the chrome is good and not bubbled. Let me know; Thanks, Tim.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about it. Should be everything I need to get the outside of my '83 back to its former glory (minus the vinyl) and a few parts to sell or trade off as well.

I was hoping to get lucky enough it'd be 307 car for the 455 swap parts, but its the usual 3.8 Sure not going to complain though!

Yep - blue 65. I forget - you needed the cover for the spare and what else? (besides the tailgate...)

A friend has a car he wants to me haul out to where the wagon is. Or, to be more accurate, his Mom wants me to haul out there to get it out of HER yard

Same guys I picked up this Regal from have a 67 New Yorker they want me to take too for a derby car. If they convince me, it'll have to go out there as well. Either way, I'll be going out soon.

How's the rear and the swaybar?

That 3.8 should be a 109 block if its an 86. Same one the turbo cars used. That alone should bring $300. :TU:

I don't have the car home yet; spent the last week putting a whole new roof on my garage. (trusses, etc) It'll be a couple more weeks. I'll let you know on the rearend as soon as its home. The rearend should be ok; its a lower mileage car; 83,000 I was told. Supposedly runs good, just has a seal out in the trans.

Hmmm, too bad it wasn't a Wagon!

No sway bar. Rear seems to be ok.

Unfortunately, I was wrong on the year. Its an 85. I'm guessing that rules out the 109 block, but how do I check it for sure?

    Driving...

Finally had time to play with the car over the weekend. I put a different battery in it, pumped the gas twice, hit the key & it fired right up. Exhaust leaked a little at the cat, but otherwise purred like a kitten. Aired up the flats, added three quarts of tranny fluid & went for a drive.

Other than the front tires wanting to deflate back to flat again, it drove like a dream. Exhaust leak went away when it got warmed up and the trans has only leaked a few drops since.

    :TU: :TU:

The trunk looks like it'd only ever been opened to be vacuumed.

Almost a shame to make parts out of it.

Wheel beads are probably just corroded up. Easy fix... tempted to drop a 455 in there yet?

Is the driver's door as dead on straight as it appears (mine feels wavey when feeling along the length of the beltline). If so I might be interested, how much to Helena, MT?

They're painted steel versions of our usual chrome ralleys. They have the 4 3/4 bolt pattern. Yes, I'd sell them. You're going to get hit bad on shipping, how about $50 for the set to keep it affordable? I can send you close up pics if you're interested.

Getting there! Have one already though - need to get this one stripped before I decide I need two...

Yep. So's the other door, and the trunklid, and the front fenders, and the hood, and ... ... ...they're all going on mine. :pp
