ok, new problem  , im still learning on tuning my qjet so i need some help. when i hit the pedal to the floor, it bogs real bad. bam!, bam!, bam! itll kick in, then dies down, kicks in, dies down. checkd the vacuum break, seems to be workin OK. my question is, whats the easiest way to tell whether the problem is related to: 1. air valve spring needs adjusting, or 2. not enough fuel in bowl due to float setting or something like that? everything is finally coming together great. me and my buddy did a "nomaster" exhaust system mod so its loud as hell now :Brow: im preety happy bout that, thanks for any help guys :TU:

If it actually comes back and forth I doubt that it is related to the air valve. Sounds fuel related.

Sounds like my "new" problem. Carb was rebuilt with new float, vacume pull off etc. I notice the past 2 times out that from a hard acceration everything works fine but at about 55 mph the car surges. If I let off she smooths out or if I just ride out the surging she settles down and rides fine. Its almost as if there is something screwy when trying to transfer over to the secondary circuit. Is that what you are faced with too? :Do No:

well, my problem is a bit like that. no matter when i punch the pedal to the floor, get close to WOT this problem occurs, im really thinking it is that the float level is set too low. are there any other symptoms that are related to a low float level? im trying pinpoint the problem. i also had a problem yesterday. i went to go pick up lunch for work and i let her set for about a half hour. then i start her up head up the street and she died!. i had to get a ride back to work. then my buddy and i came back to where the car was, i tried starting her and she would start but id have to play with the pedal to keep her running and eventually shed die. then my buddy tried. started her up revved her preety high, and the problem went away.weird i guess maybe some dirt was blocking up something in the carb i duno. anyway, i guess ill try to raise the float level tomarrow. thanks for the tips

What is your fuel pressure when it acts up?

i have no clue what the fuel pressure is. dont have anything hooked up to measure it. i have a stock pump with 3/8 lines to the carb with a mr gasket inline filter. sound to you like too much fuel or too little? thanks
