Seeking 69 400 Block or advice on 430 vs 455

Hello all! I'm the proud owner of a basket case 69 GS Stage 1. It doesn't have the original block. It's a 430 block. The heads may be the originals but I don't have them off to check. Engine and trans are out waiting to be split apart and the engine put on a stand for break down.

Questions: 1) How hard will it be to find an original 400 block?
    2) if I can't find a 400, would you scrap the 430 and just build a 455? Why or why not? I can't think of any advantages or reasons to build the 430. It's been locked up since 1978!

If i find an original block I'll restore. If I don't, I'll resto-mod to Pro Touring type set up.

I would go straight to a 455. I don't see any point in a 400 that isn't original to the car anyway...
Of course, I'd still restore it to original appearance, but that's just my taste...

Ask in parts wanted for a "RS" block. They may be out there!
I have an extra 69 400 block but it does not have proper stamping to ID it as a RS. It did have some other parts
that will end up on the "RS" block ;)
