As I understand it, the 71-71 muncie with 32 slpine output has a different (longer) tailshaft, and takes a different shifter bracket than the 70. If I want to use a 70 shifter on the later 32 slpine tailshaft transmission, what shifter mounting bracket do i need?
Shifter brackets are all the same. I have a 73 Muncie in the beater currently. This is the 71-72 style version with the elongated lower bolt hole https://www.ebay.com/itm/70-71-72-B...m1e4a2740b9:m:m2ir6RbtWDnxxWVP-TjB8Dg&vxp=mtr
Good day. Im new to the site im wondering about changing gaskets on a bare bones stock 1970 455. Will i need a gasket maker with cork gaskets or what. Where can i find thisinfo on this site? Thanx.

Is the shifter (and handle) location any further back (like 3/4") relative a 70 trans (10/27 splines) with the same shifter and bracket?
I did some research and found the answer to my questions. The Buick shifter bracket is dual-drilled with mounting holes for both the 70 Muncie and 71 up Muncie/BW T10
