I have a 1971 buick skylark that is 100% complete. The rear quarters, inners and front fenders are totally rusted out. I think it will cost more to repair them than the care is worth. The engine is a 350 2bbl all original and running.Blue interior is nearly immaculate. There are no cracks or fading at all in the interior. Even the windshield is perfect. I have all the chrome and emblems as well. I am curious as to whether anyone thinks I should part it out, or if it is worth restoring? Oh and the car is in Alberta, Canada.
'71 Skylark What condition is the engine; do you want to sell it and how much do you want for it? svwright@sti.net
in my opinion In my opinion from the sounds of it I would part it out unless you have another car that you can use the good parts in. Needing basically all 4 corners replaced is a big task and big money even if you do it all yourself. Unless you've found out it's something special like a stage 1 GS or GSX I would either look for another body and use this as a donor or part it out.
I am waiting for an estimate to do the body, and will decide from there. I think however you may be right. It is just a plain skylark, no AC, or even front disc brakes. The crome is amazing though and I just got a new metal grille off of ebay. I also have a couple of original GS grille emblems.....
What is the status of this one? I have not heard back from you if the other guy took the car? I stil am anxious for the items I wanted off of it. If you could let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks
The gentleman did take the car, but as far as I know he may be parting it out as well. I can give you a contact number....His name is Chad and he is at 604-802-1201
