I was talking with Mike the other day (old school hot rodder from back in the day, and all around excellent fellow) and he mentioned something about a horseshoe style "slap shifter." He said it looked like a factory horseshoe shifter but functioned as a ratchet shifter. Can anyone give me more info on this, specifically if I can modify a factory or repro horseshoe shifter to be like this?
