Hey now! I'm on your side!
I was only trying to further your point. I agree, that table should be taken with a gigantic grain of salt.

    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

The Big Caddy stuff isn't all correct either.

Most of your RWD 472"/500" engines had a front sump oil pan - not rear. The later 425" and 368" had more of a mid sump pan. The only true rear sump was the FWD Eldorado.

At least they got the weight pretty close.

I weighed the parts of my incomplete 1970 350/285 engine on our good scales at work.

block and caps (no bolts) 165.3lbs
both heads (one exhaust valve missing) 116.8lbs
    iron intake 55.1lbs
    crank 55.1lbs
pistons and rods (with bolts and nuts but half of one crown missing) 24.7lbs
cam and timing set (no lifters) 8.8lbs

    = 425.8lb

    PLUS (parts I don't have)

    lifters 8lbs
    balancer 6lbs
    front cover and dist. 8lbs
    oil pan 6lbs

    =453.8lbs. Sounds about right.

    PLUS

carb, fuel pump, starter, flex plate, water pump, alternater, fan,- belt and pulleys, spark plugs, exhaust manifolds, oil and filter, and ALL the bolts.

does anyone know how much these extra items add to the total

These charts that are posted on the net rarely qualify exactly what is is they are supposedly comparing

yeah, i i've noted this before.

we have no idea if these are 'dry' or 'wet' weights, what the accessory load out ( ps, ac, etc ) on the package is or anything.
