I am having my carburetor rebuilt by Jim Weise and he (and I) need one small part to finish..here is his email to me:

    *snip*

It is missing one part, that being a small linkage that goes from the accel pump lever to the float bowl vent.. and I don't have one of those available.. You should see if someone with this vintage carb has one lying around. This was only on the early Q-jets (pre-70).

    *snip*

Does anyone have this part? My carb number is 7028240. It is for a 68 Riviera...

    TIA Frank :beer

    Frank,
Can't help with the part, but maybe this will help others know what we are talking about. Found this on page45 of the Doug Roe book. This must be what Jim is talking about.

It's just a small bent wire that flips the fuel vent open or closed during throttle operation. You should be able to fabricate a match out of stiff wire if someone can lend you a good 'original'. :TU:
I have one, for a match if you can't source one locally - I just don't want to 'strip' my spare carb, and render it nfg ! :Do No:

Here's a better pic - it's the wire link going to the fuel bowl vent.

    Correct..

Could fab one, but I am willing to bet someone here has one that they can part with..

It does have the bowl vent Larry.. just not the wire linkage from the accel pump lever.
