Anyone with ANY chrome trim parts in need of restoration, freshening up or whatever should contact Adam. His quality of work is above top notch. I had a set of 70 GS grill trim I acquired a few years back that was sitting around collecting dust. I sent it out to him a little over a week ago and received it today. It's fantastic work that I wouldn't think twice about using on a restored Gran Sport. I highly recommend sending him any trim parts. The pictures he's posted here on the board speak for themselves. :TU::TU:
Re: Smartin's Chrome Parts Restoration Services Thanks, Brett.:beer Just a clarification, stainless steel trim is what I have been doing for the most part. Chrome parts like bumpers and pot metal can be sent over to me, but I still sub out the actual chroming. I will prep the parts as well as I can first, though. Most folks have elected to have me just do the stainless work, though. There are a lot of stainless trim pieces on these cars that have a thin layer of chrome plate on them. As long as there is no damage to the chrome layer, I can polish the chrome back to original luster. If it is damaged at all, then the entire chrome layer has to be stripped, and I can polish the stainless underneath. This was the case with Brett's 70 GS grille trim. There was a thin layer of chrome on them, which I found when I was sanding out scratches. I immediately broke through the layer, and realized that I would have to sand the entire set of trim. Not a big deal, just a little more work. The result was worth it, though.
