    or could it be ???

finally abused the daht last night , nothing impressive ... 14.441 and a blistering trap speed of 98.41 on a 14.50 run . highlight of the night was driving around a friends 70 4406pk 4 speed cuda he treed me and after the 1-2 shift he couldn't catch me :error:

60' were not impressive 2.34 was the best , maybe i should ditch the dead air shocks ??? car was running on most of a 20 year state of tune ??? only new plugs ,plug wires , cap and rotor and a rebuild on the carb with a new intake gasket , vacuum leak on the intake still ??? otherwise i haven't touched the engine , points are ??? years old and dwell is ? i need to hit ebarf for an old working dwell meter ???

    try NAPA

Your local NAPA should be able to fix you up with a brand new dwell meter,
that's where I got mine :TU:

You didn't mention if you had traction problems?
You could easily drop the car down into the 13's with some sub 2 sec 60ft's.

    I used to have a car that would run 13.30's@99-100 with 1.93-1.95 60 ft's

oh ya , traction was marginal at best , the track was greasy and the 1-2 shift didn't net much of an rpm drop after the intial shift . i pretty much came out of the hole off idle to keep wheelspin to a minimum .

also it would only go to about 4500 rpm in high gear (5500 in the other 3) . i need to look at the fuel pump , i do have a 3/8 fuel pickup and line to swap in over the winter .

oh and thanks for the heads up on the dwell meters

correction , my POS sun tach is showing 4000 my engine is actually at 4800 :spank: , so when i'm bringing it to 5500 its closer to 6500  and i did feel the engine float yesterday on one delayed shift :Dou:

anyway whats an ACCEPTABLE aftermarket tach for the PS drags ?

any after market tach is allowed as long as it is not mounted in the dash according to the posted rules on the pure stock web site. it can be mounted on top or below the dash or on the steering column.

If you want to improve your 60', LEAVE the airshocks and let them down to about 10Psi, disconnect the front swaybar and install some wornout shocks in front. :Smarty:

The goal here is to get your Mopar A-Body to leave like a GM A-Body :eek2: that is rearend squat with the front end rising. That tip will get you into the 13's.

I've run a best of 2.007 on my 205/70-14's at 27.5Psi with lots of sub 2.04 60's with 3.55's in the back.

thanks brian , i'm not even sure if theres air in the shocks , i might buy some drag shocks or the cheapest pair of oil filed i can find and drill some holes in them .

i didn't disconnect the swaybar but i did loosen the nuts on the links to take the pressure off . i did get a 2.21 , a pair of 2.24 and a 2.33 60' on sat. , where 2.34 was my best a few nights earlier

then again i'm running on 20 year old rock hard tires :Dou:

    John,

When you're in the market for tires, I run Sumitomo HTR 200 205/70-14's and these babies stick!
