Sort of silly prayer request

This is silly I know but I have to ask.

Our car show is Saturday and I have had a lot of feedback so we should have a pretty good turnout this year. But... almost everyone who said they're coming also said "if it doesn't rain".

All week long the weather forecast has predicted rain for Saturday. I ask that God would hold off the rain, provide safe passage for all who are coming to and from the show and bless our time together.

    Thanks.

Not a strange request at all. AutoFair is coming up in about 3 weeks and I share the same fear....

I'm game. It didn't rain either year for my show, plus I have been praying for the weather for our race season and I'm five for five so far (beautiful weather Praise God).

    Here goes:

Heavenly Father, you have given us authority in the earth today. In Jesus' name we "bind" bad weather and we "loose" a beautiful day. Thank you Lord that you said whatever we bind on earth you bind from heaven and whatever we loose on earth you loose from heaven: you said you would back us up when we speak. I pray that Mark would have a great turnout not for number's sake but so that hearts could be touched and lives could be changed to further your kingdom.

    In Jesus name -

    Amen.

    Hey Mark,

    Not silly at all.

Unfortunately my son and I aren't gonna make up this year. My dad fell off a step ladder while working on his motor home and busted his hip so I'm going over to the rehab unit everyday to "motivate" him. Alright so what I consider motivating others may refer to as badgering.

I'll put in a good word for ya tho...

    Thanks all.
The Otterbein Nursing students could really use a good turn out. They have a whole bunch of money they need to raise before their June '08 graduation.

Also, we had a few "last year" car show attenders who have been visiting the church. One of them is a regular member now.

It was cloudy in the morning but turned into a beautiful day here in Detroit...:bglasses:

All in all everything was pretty good. We had 8 more cars than last year and even 7 of the vehicles who attended the first two didn't come to this one.

I was done passing out the awards by 3:30 and a few raindrops started falling just before 4:00. The thunderstorms came around 4:30 and we even had tornado touch downs in the area.

With being the car show organizer, the set up and take down crew, the DJ and also one of the judges, it makes for a very long, but very rewarding, day in the end.

I'm still amazed that I can't get the local Buick community to stop by though.:Do No:

Sounds like you had just the opposite of the day we had here in Michigan.

Glad you pulled it off and it sounds like you are reaping spiritual rewards, too.

I don't know what to tell you about your Buick bretheren; I continue to be amazed at how well represented the Buick community is at the events I have been attending (Troy Historic Show, Woodward Cruise, even a car show at the GM Milford Proving Ground had Buicks out the wazoo).

    Maybe it's just me....:)
