    Hey there,

Changing out the spark plugs and wires on my 71 455 and was wondering if anyone out there has a wiring diagram for that. Not saying I don't trust the guy that I bought it from to have it right, but I don't trust the guy that I bought it from to have it right. Also the wires he has on there now is not the right length and is just laying on top of the valve covers/wherever they fall. Any suggestion on how they are actually supposed to be routed?

    Thanks in advance.

Just go clockwise from #1 they should go into holders that attach to the bottom valve cover bolt studs.ill find a pic. 25688703-443kewfewynv1pkyaxg5p5in-2-0.png

If you want the plug wires to fit like they should, buy a universal. You cut the wire and install the distributor end. This is how the plug wires should be arranged in the cap.

The big deal is to keep #5 and #7 well-separated until they plug into the cap.

The "official" routing will be shown in the service manual you need to buy. I suggest eBay.

Here is how I routed mine on the drag car. I used the plug wire mounts from T/A.
I wanted to keep them off the headers but it's the same with manifolds.
These are Taylor Spiro-Pro cut to length wires with 135* plug ends.

Thank you Phil that's a really nice setup you have! Is that a little self on top of your headers you have your wire clusters resting on?

That's not a shelf but it's part of the T/A wire holders. They bolt up with the valve cover bolts and clamp the wires in place. Not sure what their part number is but I think they were @ $80.00...
