I have a link for using a 59 or 60 Nailhead oil filter block on the earlier nailheads, which will allow a spin on filter to be used. Has anyone done this before and can you expand on any problems. I know I can get an aftermarket adapter, but would like to keep my 58 all Buick if possible.

I don't know of an advantage for changing. It save a little time getting the filter on and off. But, are the spin on types better? They seem to be smaller than the PF22 that mine uses. I don't know. I'm just saying/asking. (?):Do No:

Suppose to have better filter properties, according to others. As far as size, well you just have to find a good replacement for PF5 that was the original specified filter.
