So I recently blew up my st400 out of my 65 lesabre my buddy has a st400 that came out of his 68 riviera and he's willing to give it to me. I know I have the switch pitch converter on my 65 would everything basicly be the same if I swapped it to his 68 400?

No, the 68 is not a switch pitch. The front pump, input shaft, and of course the converters are different. You can use the switch pitch pump and parts and install them in the 68 transmission. Not sure how badly you blew the SP trans up, but there may be metal in the converter, so you'll have to have the converter rebuilt if you want to use it. Also, the 1965 engine would be a Nailhead? If so, the bell housing bolt patterns are different.
