Isn't that 294th day of 1970 or do I have it backwards?

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Yes, its a 1971 Carb, Note the 704 1 242 so the carb was made late 1970 for the 1971 year cars.

Date code seems OK to me. It's a 71 Stage carb, with a date of 294 1970 which would be during the production of the 71 model year. If it was a 246 carb for 70 than it would be a replacement. Am I missing something?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Afaik, all QJ's had a day/year code.

Looks like he’s parting a legit 71 stage 1 to me.. OW trans as well. Could use the carb and distributor for ours, but being a non numbers engine (numbers BB trans), I’m fine with just getting a stout cruiser built. Someday

No idea how rough the body, frame, etc are… but sad to see a legit 71 S1 car being parted. So hard to document to begin with and this one looks loaded- tilt, power windows, rally wheel, tach, console, etc. door jam showing black, wonder if it was a factory black car?

Agree, shame to part a legit Stage 1. I know it's NOM but that trans IS the documentation.

Anything can be saved, and that is about the third most desirable GS there is behind the GSX and '70 Stage 1.
