Is that a chrome valve cover I see? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/buic...trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ360072183947
To me it looks like the combination of the sunlight and a cheap camera is playing tricks on that photo: But you can always ask the eBay seller about that valve cover :TU:
This is more from the "What if ..." file .... but, I remember a documented case from Richard Lassiter (GSCA) about how back in the day a Buick dealer had to replace an entire engine under warranty out of a 1970 Electra 225 for an older woman because of the rough idle of the new 225. Turned out the 225 left Flint with a Stage 1 engine and that was the reason for the "rough" idle that she complained of. Stranger things have happened.
I contacted the seller, and he told me that the valve covers are chrome :TU: So now we know fer shure, fer shure.....p
This is the response I received from the Seller: The valve covers are chrome, with 2 different numbers stamped on them. engine stamp is 220.
He told me code 220 also. Whatever that means.......He said he couldn't confirm if the motor was ever changed.........
No way to be certain without looking at the production code on the block. Would have to be RS, SS, TS, WS, XS or ZS.
