stamping numbers on 70 455

I just bought a 70 455 and wanted to verify that indeed it was a 70 motor. It came out of a Le Sabre. All the numbers I could see were the following: on the top rear of the block 231738, on front of the block by the water pump outlet H 27 and on the intake H28
and B-1231718-E. I assume this is a 370 horse motor according to one book I have. Thanks, Ted

 

Check for the SF code on the block next to the oil dipstick hole.

The 1970 block casting is 1231738 and the 1970 intake casting is 1231718. H27 and H28 are date codes (August 27/28 1969).

Also, the motor code should be stamped on the block between the drivers side two rear spark plugs, just below the head. It should be 'SF'.
