  1. Hi, Im going to repair and paint my steering wheel. I was wondering what was the original color of the the steering wheel? Here is the photo of what it is now. The interior is light blue.

Same as everything else in there would be my guess. Thats no original for that car, must have been in a green car.

That is the color they become with age. I have this steering wheel in my car (63 Wildcat wheel) and the areas of the steering wheel that were protected (back side where the hub is) are blue like the original as in the car above, but the rest of the wheel is "turquoise" .

I color changed/painted the interior of my car, dash, steering mast as the blue was still "too blue" for the reopped upholstery after installing it, but originally everything was like the OP's.

  4. So it supposed to be the color of the interior that was the light blue? I just wanted to know as I have all that paint and didn't see any clue that it was that interior color. Like 72 stage1 said it maybe from another car. I have no clue.

Yes. It is possible it is a differnt wheel, but mine is nearly the same as yours and when I got it, the back is still the darker blue where it was protected from the sun.

Here is a blue interior like yours with a matching color wheel.

Other colors show matching wheels, and "back in the day" they were a match to the interior paint.

Here's a link that shows more.

All those interior plastics fade at different rates. Look at an original burnished saddle interior. Some of the pieces look green. They didn't start off that color.
