Would like to know please, what Buick V-8 and transmission I should be considering for swapping into my Skylark, to replace the tired 6 cyl. Would appriciate all comments. Thanks!

Hi Ants ....Welcome to the Only board you'll ever need !!

We're a friendly bunch and appreciate at least signing your posts with your first name

You have a host of options from the earlier 300's and and 401 Nialheads ....All the way up to what a friend of mine has - a 494" Stroked TorqueMonster making over 700HP !!! Thats one Mean '64 !!

You'll have to fabricate a bit to make things work but there's enough knowledge amongst this board to shoehorn a Few V8's into your car

Search around and read a while
    Welcome.....

I donated my original 350 to my buddy's '64 Skylark and it was a blast, until he blew a con rod out the side of the block. Told him to look at the bottom end....I didn't ask him what he had to do, but I just may bump into him this weekend and I'll ask him if I see him.

I know this is "www.v8.buick.com," but have you considered an 86-87 turbo v6? You have the mounts all ready!
