Stock Column Linkage '64 Skylark w/ST300

I recently made a swap of the ST300 for a 2004R. Amazingly, the stock column shift linkage lines right up.

However, I seem to be having a problem now with the lower swivel clamp. When I change the gear selector on the column, the linkage rod just slides through the lower swivel, instead of rotating the equalizer assembly and subsequently rotating the shifter lever on the transmission. Anybody encounter a similar issue, and if so, what can be done to restore correct functionality?

    Thanks in advance -

Answered my own question this evening. I was missing a component (the retaining cup on the lower swivel). I located it in my fasteners box, put it on, and everything works as intended.

Just getting ready to swap the ST300 over to the 2004R on mine as well. Mine is a console setup but want to know about the locking versus nonlocking torque converter what did you go with and any other advise would be helpful. Thanks
