OK, I'm getting older and don't like the hot, humid weather plus I'm an AC virgin. I know the basic cycle but have no AC tools, gauges or vac pump.

Anyone have experience installing something like Vintage Air on a '70 non-AC GS? Who makes the best kit? If I have factory engine brackets, can I use one of those new aluminum factory type compressors with a Vintage Air setup?

Finally, if it is too daunting, anyone know where I can slide my plastic to get it done? I believe Then and Now Restorations can do it but just want some opinions.

You might consider buying a stock set up from someone here on the forum and converting your car to A/C.

I would consider that but then I'd have to have all the controls, under dash, rework the firewall.

I believe I'd get better service, less under hood clutter and easier install with the vintage air or similar. Except for compressors, they are all under dash and a bulkhead for the hoses.
